Planzone: Collaborative Multi Project Management Tool
PlanZone is a web service that provides a collaborative project management platform. Like many web service of its kind, PlanZone offers access to a workspace from where you can comprehensively manage your projects. This can be done by defining the major phases of your project, creating and assigning tasks to team members, creating milestones and making use of rich project templates. With Planzone you can not only manage project activities, but also assign tasks, share documents (e.g. PowerPoint files) and import MS Project files.
You can start using Planzone by either signing up for a new account or logging in using Google, Yahoo, AOL, VeriSign or OpenID. After the sign up process is complete, you can enter a Planzone name. This name is also used for the URL of your Planzone account (e.g. example.plazone.com). While Planzone is a paid service, you can sign up for a 30-day fully functional trial which provides the option to have 5 open projects, collaboration with up to 5 users and 1 GB of storage space. Furthermore, using the free version you can also export files to Excel format, manage multiple projects, create timesheets and import documents from Google Drive.
After the initial sign up formalities are done, you can begin managing your projects and collaborating with your team. To add a new project, click Create my first project to get started with Planzone.
This will provide you with the option to either create a simple project, a project with a schedule or a project from a template. You can also import a project from MS Project.
Using your Dashboard you can easily manage all added projects to organize your work, mark dates and deadlines with milestones, collaborate with team members (discuss ideas, post comments, ask questions and assign tasks), track time spent on projects, as well as share documents and webpages.
Planzone has 4 packages which mainly differ on the basis of the available cloud storage space, user collaboration limit and the number of projects that you can manage. The Basic package costs €9.90 per month, whereas the team package costs €39 per month. If you are an entrepreneur or require working with number of freelancers to mange your business, then you might find the Business (worth €89 per month) or Enterprise package (worth €199 per month) to be quite suitable.
