Microsoft® Lync™ 2010 Attendee is a product introduced by Microsoft that is very helpful for online conferencing and online meetings involving participants who don’t have Microsoft products installed in their computers.
Lync 2010 Attendee provides a variety of communication tools and services online that includes instant messaging, audio, online video, and other collaboration tools such as application sharing, screen sharing, attachments, whiteboard, polling, and PowerPoint or slide presentation.
To join and participate in meetings you can contact the support team in your organization who should send you invitees to use and setup Lync for the first use.
Lync is an enterprise-ready unified communications platform where Lync users can keep track of their contacts’ availability; send an IM; start or join an audio, video, or web conference. Users can also make phone calls using the phone and communication capabilities and VoIP technology. Lync is built to fully integrate with Microsoft Office but also to allow users using Microsoft Lync 2010 desktop client available for Windows, Mac and mobile versions are available for Windows Phone, iPhone/iPad, and Android devices.
Then, you as the host can setup a new meeting and invite people to join as participants. Lync 2010 Attendee has a good integration with other Microsoft tools and programs including Office applications. Thus, there is also an integration for mobile devices especially if the meeting participants are not in the office and want to connect to the meeting using their mobile devices like smartphones and tablets.
