How to Uninstall Office 2011 for Mac

The procedure to uninstall Office 2011 for Mac is simple but it may not be intuitive as removing Microsoft Office from Windows OS.

Step 1 – Close and quit all Office 2011 for Mac applications
First of all you need to make sure all Office programs are closed at the time you want to uninstall the software. Right click over the program in the Doc and then make sure to click Quit (which will appear if the application is opened).
Step 2 – Use a Script to Uninstall Office 2011 for Mac
You can use a script to remove all the folders involved during the install process or you can do the process manually. This article from OfficeforMac describes the commands that you need to run.
Another useful tool is the Office 2011 Uninstaller script that is introduced here. First, download the Office 2011 Uninstall Tool and run it. A prompt will appear to confirm the removal so click Continue. Then, once it has completed a message will appear. Click Ok.

Step 3 – Remove Office Icons from Dock
The icons from the Dock won’t be removed so you can remove them manually.
