Best Services to Share Large Files and Presentations Online
Last updated on March 1st, 2024
While some of the top cloud storage services include names like Dropbox, Box, SugarSync and Google Drive, they are arguably not the best options to quickly upload files online for “quick file sharing”. This is because when one needs to send a large file it is easier to simply upload content and specify a sender then to use desktop or mobile applications and to find sharing options amongst convoluted menus. Moreover, some of the heaviest files can sometimes include presentation files, which may exceed the limitations of a common email service and hence you might not be able to send it via email. This is why we have compiled a list of two types of services, including free large file sharing services to help you quickly share your large files and some very fine services for uploading and sharing your PDF and PowerPoint files as online presentations.
Free Large File Sharing Services
DropSend
This web service is as good as its name, all you have to do is to specify a sender, select a file to send and enter your email address, subject and custom message. Once done, your file is instantly uploaded and saved to your cloud drive. DropSend allows sending files as heavy as 2GB. For details, see our Review of DropSend.
TransferBigFiles
As the name suggests, this web service is meant for sending very heavy files to people via email. Uploaded files are saved to the TransferBigfiles server, after which a sharing link is emailed to the specified recipient. With TransferBigFiles you can send files as heavy as 20GB in size. For more details, see our Review of TransferBigFiles.
Send Anywhere
This is a web service with mobile apps for Android and iOS which enables quickly share large files via P2P (peer-to-peer). The transfer speed for Send Anywhere is quite impressive and you can send and receive files using a key or QR Code. For more details, refer to our Review of Send Anywhere.

SpeakerDeck
This is another SlideOnline like service which allows turning your PowerPoint files into online presentations. However, unlike SlideOnline it does not support PowerPoint files and only allows converting PDF files into online presentations. For more details, see our Review of SpeakerDeck.
SlideRocket
While Google Drive is known to botch up uploaded PowerPoint files, its integration with SlideRocket saves the day. SlideRocket is one of the best web services for uploading and sharing PowerPoint files online. It comes with Google Drive integration and also provides wide range of readymade templates which can be used for creating presentations online. See more about this service from our Review of SlideRocket. It is also worth pointing out that in a recent move SlideRocket has been acquired by Clearslide and the features of this web service might get integrated with Clearslide.
